Unless you've been living in a Himalayan cave for the last six weeks, or maybe in Cleveland, you no doubt know about the LACMA Rock. That's LACMA as in LA County Museum of Art, and rock as in very large stone.
Some Yoko Ono wanna-be wants to take this 340 ton granite boulder from Riverside County and convey it 106 miles at 6MPH on a as the crow flies distance of about sixty miles. He wants to place it over a 15 foot wide trench and call it a sculpture named Levitated Mass. It does ask the age-old question "But is it art?" Not to this old dinosaur.
I never was one to understand abstract anything, let alone art. But I did have to go see this spectacle. It, the rock, lacked any pzazz. It sort of sat there kind of like what it was, a rock.
